We love children at Ulusba, and our team are experts at keeping your little cubs entertained while you enjoy some rest and relaxation during your family vacation.
The Ulusaba Cubs Club
At Ulusaba, our youngest explorers are in for an unforgettable adventure! Cub’s Club is specially designed for guests aged 0-11 years old, offering a world of fun, discovery, and hands-on experiences in the heart of the African bush.
When our little adventurers arrive, they’ll be greeted with a Cub’s Club backpack, with fun and educational safari surprises, including their very own cap to wear on safari! Designed to spark curiosity and excitement, this welcome pack sets the tone for a magical stay.
Rock Lodge offers a personalised experience for Cubs, with a fantastic range of activities to choose from. Rather than a set programme, we let the little adventurers decide how they’d like to spend their time, ensuring every moment is filled with fun and exploration
On Game Drives
As long as your Cub is aged six or over, they are more than welcome to jump on board one of our game drives for a truly magical family adventure!
The roads can be very dusty, so please bring some sunglasses to protect those little eyes!
Sweet Dreams
Kids of all ages are very welcome at Rock Lodge, however, we’re unable to accommodate Cubs under the age of 12 at Safari Lodge. In some rooms, we can accommodate kids on rollaway beds.
To protect the Sabi Sand Reserve, the place we call home, the total number of vehicles is limited. Sometimes this means we are unable to accommodate extra kids in rooms whilst Ulusaba is fully booked, but we’ll always make sure to update you at the time of booking.
Safety First
Kids must stay with an adult at all times in camp, even the tiniest insects can be feisty! Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at the pool, as there’s no lifeguard on duty. A babysitting service is available at no extra charge; please note, this is provided by off-duty staff who have plenty of experience with kids.
Daytime can get toasty, so help yourself to our complimentary sun cream in communal areas. To keep mosquitoes at bay, close room doors in the evening and use the mosquito spray provided.
Keeping Busy
There's so much for the Kids to do, they may never want to leave. Here are just a few of the activities available during your stay:
- A fun-filled treasure hunt where Cubs solve clues to explore and uncover the secrets of their new surroundings
- Cubs can take part in a mini-ranger’s course, discovering the secrets of Africa as they learn to track animals and identify footprints and dung, an exciting experience guided by one of our rangers!
- Our Cubs can step into the role of a safari master chef, spending the morning crafting and cooking their own homemade pizzas for lunch or decorating cookies for a sweet treat.
- Cubs and their families are invited to join a Pride ‘n Purpose tour, offering a meaningful opportunity to connect with the local community and learn about its unique culture.
