Frequently asked questions

Looking for answers?

Read on for our most frequently asked questions about staying at Kasbah Tamadot.

When is Kasbah Tamadot open?

Kasbah Tamadot is open all year round.

What are the check-in an check-out times?

Our official check-in time is 2 pm, but if you’re scheduled to arrive earlier, do let us know and we’ll try our best to accommodate. The time to say bye is officially 12 pm on the day of your departure.

When is a good time to visit?

A visit to the Atlas Mountains offers something for everyone all year round.

In winter, admire the snow-capped peaks, while spring is a pleasant time to discover the many surrounding villages.

Hot summer days are best spent relaxing by the pool and cosy autumnal evenings are perfect for relaxing in the library with a good book and a warm drink. In summary, there’s never a bad time to visit Kasbah Tamadot!

What’s the weather like?

Spring days are pleasantly warm with just a small amount of rainfall. In April the temperatures can range from 12°C up to 24°C, with the temperature dropping at night.

As we enter July the heat during the day continues to increase and by August, we are very much a ‘hot sun’ destination, but a pleasant 10°C cooler than the high temperatures in Marrakech.

In the autumn months, the evenings start to cool, and the days become a little less intense heat-wise. Towards the end of September, the snow on the tops of the Atlas Mountains starts to return.

December, January and February are the coolest months of the year to visit. With the average temperature at 13°C and the sun still shining, our heated pools are comfortable at 28°C, so a midday swim is still the norm!

What should I pack?

The atmosphere at Kasbah Tamadot is relaxed and informal, so simply pack your suitcase for the season and the type of activities you plan on doing during your stay.

For walks and hikes make sure to pack a good pair of trainers (sneakers), sunhat and sunglasses.

In the evening, feel free to dress up - but it’s not necessary. When visiting areas outside of the hotel, be mindful of local Moroccan customs.

We are hiring a car, do you have any advice?

Driving in Morocco can be a bit of a daunting experience, but don’t be put off by the first leg of your journey, as it’s a lot less hectic just outside the city centre. A few tips:

  • Drive on the right-hand side of the road.
  • The speed limit in built-up areas is 60kph and it is 100kph outside the city.
  • There are a lot of speed cameras around the 60kph areas so do be careful. It can also be deceiving because the dual highways leading out of the city have a limit of 60kph, whilst the single-lane roads feeding them are 100kph.
  • If possible avoid driving at night. If you do have to drive at night watch out for unlit bikes and motorbikes and be careful as the roads do not have markings like at home.
  • When a traffic light starts flashing green, it is the equivalent of an amber light at home and you should stop.

What facilities are available at Kasbah Tamadot?

  • Take a dip in the outdoor infinity pool and take in the stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. If outside is a bit too chilly, try the heated indoor pool with its own lounge area.
  • Indulge in one of our signature treatments at our spa.
  • Sink into sublime relaxation in our open-air hot tub.
  • 2 floodlit tennis courts can be found just behind the infinity pool. Racquets and balls are available on request and it’s free to use.
  • On selected evenings at Kasbah Tamadot, we offer cinema nights where you can watch a selection of Moroccan-inspired films in the open air under the stars.
  • Hit the gym and work up your appetite. It’s equipped with a running machine, bike, multifunctional weight station and free weights.
  • Have a hit on our ping pong table, in the gardens next to the tennis courts.

We also offer concierge services to arrange a wide array of other experiences and activities; some of which will need to be booked in advance, so please contact us as soon as possible with your interests and we can get you booked in to some of the following:
